Sneak Peek – Fashion Campaign in Santa Monica

with one comment

Last week I shot a campaign for a fashion retailer’s prom promotion at the Santa Monica Pier.  The weather was amazing and it’s a great location, but it was PACKED with tourists.  It was spring break and everyone was out enjoying the beautiful day, which made it a bit challenging to get a shot with a clear background.   Thank goodness for photoshop!

Shoots for retailers tend to be a balance between getting as many shots in as many different outfits as possible, while not compromising the quality of each individual shot in the rush.  By the end of the day here we did about 32 different shots, which was impressive considering how many different locations around the pier we used.  We didn’t have enough time to go back to the RV for each change of outfit, so we brought a rack of clothes and a changing tent out to each location.  The changing tent is fantastic for these location shoots, it pops up just like a folding reflector so it’s easy to transport.  And it allows the model to change in privacy even if they are surrounded by loads of gawkers.

Anyway, here are a few sample pics from the shoot.  Look for the finals to hit my website in a few weeks.
